WWE WrestleMania 35 Results


WWE WrestleMania 35 took place Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. WWE's biggest show of the year featured Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey against SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair against Becky Lynch in a Winner Take All Match, WWE Champion "The New" Daniel Bryan against Kofi Kingston, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar against Seth Rollins, Triple H against Batista, Kurt Angle's farewell match, and so much more.

Kickoff Show:

1. Cruiserweight Championship Match: Tony Nese defeated Buddy Murphy (c). Murphy thought he had the match won with Murphy's Law, but Nese got his foot on the ropes. Nese was able to recover and hit The Running Nese in the corner to win the match and the Cruiserweight Championship.

- Sal Vulcano and Brian Quinn of Impractical Jokers made a guest appearance.

2. Carmella won the WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal. Carmella, Sonya Deville, Asuka, and Sarah Logan were the final four. Asuka knocked Deville off the apron to eliminate her and was immediately tossed out by Logan. Logan thought she'd won the match, but Carmella was still in. Carmella won after superkicking Logan off the ropes to the floor.

3. Raw Tag Team Championship Match: Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins defeated The Revival (c). Hawkins played opossum and caught Scott Dawson in a small package to win the match, win the tag team championship, and end his losing streak.

- American Ninja Warrior host Akbar Gbaja-Biamila made a guest appearance.

4. Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal: Braun Strowman won. SNL's Michael Che and Colin Jost hid under the ring for the entire match, and only got back in at the very end when it looked like they could eliminate Strowman. They could not, of course, and Strowman eliminated them both to win the battle royal.

WrestleMania 35 Results:

- Alexa Bliss opened the show by introducing Hulk Hogan, who made a joke about how he would call the arena the wrong thing ("The Silverdome") and then actually called it the wrong thing ("MetLife Center"). Hogan was almost immediately interrupted by Paul Heyman, who said that if his client wasn't going on last, he wasn't going to wait around all night. That led directly into the Universal Championship match.

1. Universal Championship Match: Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar (c). Lesnar brutally attacked Rollins before the match, throwing him around the ringside area and into the announce tables. Rollins hit a low blow on Lesnar during a ref bump, then hit three Stomps to win the match.

2. AJ Styles defeated Randy Orton. Styles went for a Phenomenal Forearm but was caught by Orton in position for an RKO, then countered that counter by dropping off the ropes. Styles then hit a Phenomenal Forearm to win the match.

- Lacey Evans showed up and did nothing again.

3. SmackDown Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: The Usos (c) defeated The Bar, Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura, and Ricochet & Aleister Black. The Usos retained the championship after a double superkick and a double top rope splash on Sheamus.

- The WWE Hall of Fame class of 2019 were honored.

4. Falls Count Anywhere Match: Shane McMahon defeated The Miz. In a match that involved interference from George Mizanin, McMahon got the pin when Miz suplexed him off a camera scaffolding and an unconscious McMahon ended up on top for a pin.

5. WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: The IIconics defeated The Boss 'N' Hug Connection (c), Nia Jax & Tamina, and Beth Phoenix & Natalya. Bret Hart made an appearance during Phoenix and Natalya’s entrance. Phoenix hit a Glam Slam off the second rope on Sasha Banks and went for the pin, but the IIconics tossed her to the outside and stole it for themselves to win the match.

6. WWE Championship Match: Kofi Kingston defeated Daniel Bryan (c). Kingston won with Trouble in Paradise to become the new WWE Champion. After the match, New Day revealed a new WWE Championship belt for Kofi, and they celebrated in the ring with Kofi's kids.

- Kevin Nash and Scott Hall showed up as Colin Jost and Michael Che's doctors for some reason and tried to give them an rectal exam for their battle royal injuries.

7. United States Championship Match: Samoa Joe (c) defeated Rey Mysterio. Mysterio showed up dressed as Mysterio from Spider-Man, but Joe quickly choked him out to retain the championship.

8. Roman Reigns defeated Drew McIntyre after a Superman Punch and a Spear.

- Elias attempted to perform a concert with two other pre-taped versions of himself, but was interrupted by the Dr. of Thuganomics version of John Cena. Cena insulted Elias in verse, then took him out with a Five-Knuckle Shuffle and an F-U.

9. No Holds Barred Match: Triple H defeated Batista. Ric Flair caused a distraction, allowing Triple H to hit a running jumping sledgehammer shot to Batista. He followed that with a Pedigree to win the match.

- The B-Team modeled Daniel Bryan t-shirts, causing Ron Simmons to remark, "Damn!"

10. Baron Corbin defeated Kurt Angle. Angle missed a moonsault, and Corbin hit End of Days to win the match. After the match, Angle asked everyone to chant "you suck" at him.

11. Intercontinental Championship Match: "The Demon" Finn Bálor defeated Bobby Lashley (c). The Demon won the championship with a Coup de Grace.

- Alexa Bliss announced a MetLife attendance record of 82,265. R-Truth and Carmella then had the world's biggest dance break.

12. Winner Take All Triple Threat Match for the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships: Becky Lynch defeated Ronda Rousey (c) and Charlotte Flair (c) Rousey went for Piper's Pit on Lynch, but Lynch reversed it into a crucifix pin to win the match. Lynch is now both Raw and SmackDown Women's Champion.
