WWE has made a change to the likely main event of the Fastlane pay-per-view event. During Tuesday's SmackDown Live episode, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon announced that Kevin Owens would replace Kofi Kingston in the title match against WWE Champion Daniel Bryan.

Owens had been out of action since October following double knee surgery. Owens vs. Bryan had been rumored for WrestleMania 35. WWE recently ran promos where Owens said he was still about one month away from returning.
